Meanwhile, one of the most difficult issues with Vietnam was that the American public was against the war because it was not a just war; so, upon their return home soldiers were treated not with a hero’s welcome but with hate-filled shouts of â€Å"baby killer† (Newman 6). As a result, it was hard for a soldier to find peace with the acts of war he/she had committed, whether morally right or wrong, when the public viewed the war as totally meaningless. General Westmoreland makes the same observation, â€Å"I recognized that it was not the job of the military to defend American commitment and policy. Yet it was difficult to differentiate between pursuit of a military task and such related matters as public and congressional support and the morale of the fighting man, who must be convinced that he is risking death for a worthy cause. The military thus was caught in between† (Summers 29). Vietnam was also the first time television crews were allowed access to all as pects of war leading to the loss of innocence with a nation itself. Each night America would sit in front of the television for the nightly news and watch in horror. The numbers of the wounded and killed were reported daily during the news. Over fifty thousand military personnel lost their lives in Vietnam. Consequently, America lost its innocence and belief in its government. Essay about Loneliness Although we live in the XXI century and it seems like millions of people are around, we can suddenly become stricken with a sharp pain of loneliness. But it is important to understand the difference between so close notions as â€Å"loneliness† and â€Å"being alone†. To be alone means to have no company at the moment, while the meaning of the â€Å"loneliness† lies in the fact that it can happen to you anytime, no matter where you are. You can feel lonely even if you are in the middle of one million people crowd, when you are hanging out with your friends or spending time with you family members. Being alone is a fleeting transient notion, while loneliness is one of the harshest feelings people can feel and suffer from. The problem is that loneliness can become a cause of such terrible actions, as suicide, falling into depression or even trying to hurt close people or strangers. The other harmful side of the problem of loneliness is that it is easy to get into it, but very hard to get rid of. It is especially difficult to lose in case if it has already progressed into deep depression. It is possible to use the drug therapy, but it is not usually effective, if the cause of the depression doesn’t have hormonal or chemical nature. To my mind, the most effective loneliness treatment is not being indifferent. Medicine is good, but warm words can heal even the most broken and lonely souls. Just look around and see if somebody is longing for your help? Perhaps it’s not that obvious, but the deathly-still scream can be heard only by the most attentive and kind-hearted people.

In a distance you can see five persons standing across what looks to be a river because of the reflection on the water, as viewed the trees also get smaller and smaller indicating that they are getting farther and farther away, but as things are closer the objects get bigger telling that this object is closer. The color used in this painting is what looks to be cool colors such as the darkish green used in the plants and the blue in the background; this gives us a serious and somewhat depressing mood because there are no light colors that give us that happy feeling. This image is romantic in a way because Orpheus came to the underworld for someone he has strong feelings for and also because she is his wife, this gives it a romantic feeling.
